The EMS - Easy Mind System - was first introduced by the international organisation FIFe for colour coding. It is a combination of letters and numbers used to describe the breed, coat colour, variety and eye colour of cats. This system has replaced the somewhat chaotic breed, colour and variety designations that were previously used. The EMS system was gradually adopted by other organisations.

The following designations are relevant for Ragdolls  and RagaMuffins:

Breed Code:
RAG - ragdoll
RGM - ragamuffin

Basic coat colour:
n - seal (black for solid color)
a - blue
b - chocolate
c - lilac
d - red
c - cream
f - black tortoiseshell (seal tortoise)
g - blue-cream
h - chocolate tortoiseshell
j - lilac tortoiseshell

Proportion of white
without marking - colourpoint
04 - mitted
03 - bicolour
09 - unspecified proportion of white

33 - Siamese characters
without markings - solid colour without badges
31 = Sepia (Burmese colouring) 
32 = Mink (Tonkinese) 
21 - with drawing (tabby)

Example:
RAG n 33 or RAG n - ragdoll seal colourpoint, colourpoint with seal markings (we may see both markings depending on the organisation)

RAG n 33 04 or RAG n 04 - ragdoll seal mitted, mitted with seal markings (we may see both markings depending on the organisation)

RGM n 09 - ragamuffin black and white, black and white, with unspecified proportion of white

RGM n 33 09 - ragamuffin seal colourpoint with unspecified proportion of white, with seal markings with unspecified proportion of white
